Mermaid Watercolors

I love anything fantasy inspired such as mermaids, fairies, dragons, sign me up! This card looks harder than it was, really! All of the watercolor was Colorista markers on a piece of glass, being mopped up by water color paper, then sprinkled with kosher salt and left to sit for at least an hour. I use the glass from an old picture frame because it gives me lots of space to work with. The green leaves are also from watercolor. Sometimes pretty paper makes everything just come together!

I use a Momenta Christmas Wreath die to cut out all the foliage and the mermaid and sea turtle are from Hero Arts and colored with Ohuhu alcohol markers. The tiny bit of glitter is actually Glitz embossing powder from Recollections. If you look closely too you can see mermaids in the sequins, how fun is that!!

A few gem embellishment with Buttons and Galore half pearlz (I LOVE their half pearlz) and all done! I plan on putting up a shaker reel on Instagram @bkeeleycrafts in the next couple weeks that will show how to make that shaker sequin window. Shaker cards are really super approachable!

Lisa Frank Unicorn

Today I am sharing my Lisa Frank inspired card! I LOVE this card. I have a few things I would do better but it definitely gives off the right vibes!

It looks like it has so much going on but the zebra is a deco foil toner print with Mystic Rainbow deco foil and the Happy Birthday was also made using deco foil. The unicorn is a sticker from my Lisa Frank sticker book and the little dots are fabric paint in various colors. When you take all that away, which is pretty straight forward it's really just the background!!

The background is ink blending of yellow first in the middle and then pink and blue on the edges, the overlap made the green and orange, yay for color theory! The I took my leopard print stencil and ink blended with black a few spots, I went for a triangle to help move the eye around the card, without having to fill in the entire background, it's already a very busy card so I didn't want to fill the whole space with the print.

Ta Dah! That's it, back it on some paper and it's all done. I can't wait to make another Lisa Frank inspired card. Her aesthetic is just so fun!

Tie-dye Dragon Birthday

I love the way this card came out! It's so bright and cheerful and more classic rainbow color.

My first step was to use the round circle stamp to set up the shaker part of my card. I stamped using clear embossing ink and then used clear embossing powder. Simon Says Stamp's Sentimental Circle is such a fun set and I actually got it for a fantastic price at a garage sale! Definitely a good find.

After I had the Happy Birthday circle embossed I took my cute little dragons and little star stamp from Hero Arts's Dragons and Unicorns set and stamped them around the edge and once again used clear embossing powder and embossed the images.

Before I added the window or shaker element I used distress inks to create a "tie-dye" looking pattern. I started with yellow in the three corners and then worked my way around with the other colors. Blending the red and blue over red to get orange and green. I did use purple because the blended purple didn't have the dark pop of purple I was looking for.

I die cut out a circle for the shaker added a piece of plastic leftover from a scrapbooking purchase (As long as you are not using "big pieces" it works great! A couple of mists of water over the oxide inks and some mica spray and I was done with my cover. I waited for that step because I wanted to add the splatter to the shaker window. Add some dimensional adhesive and voila! I was SO happy with the outcome. If you have any questions feel free to message me on Instagram!
